Law Education comes into play at the time of social awareness when youth is questioning and is ready to take a stand on political matters, when the political apathy among today’s generation is fading away, when the youngsters are more spontaneous and taking one step ahead to make a difference in the current political scenario – Law Education is all the more very, very important. If used judiciously, law education will serve as a tool to mould the mindset of the society, taking our country to the next level to tackle globalization, liberalization, and privatization.
 
Law schools are making constant efforts to transform their traditional education system; Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is one of the conspicuous attempts by the concerned authorities. This law test was constructed in the wake of multiple tests, students are required to attempt to get into various law schools. This common entrance exam is an initiative jointly taken by the University Grants Commission, Ministry of HRD, and the National Law Universities. This article will educate you about the eligibility criteria to get into any of the eleven national law schools across India enlisted below:
 
National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU)
Nalsar University of Law, Hyderabad (NALSAR)
National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU)
West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS)
National Law University, Jodhpur (NLU)
Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (HNLU)
Gujarat National Law University (GNLU)
Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow (RMLNLU)
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab (RGNUL)
Chanakya National Law University, Patna (CNLU)
National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi (NUALS)
This test is also conducted for the post-graduate program – Master of Law (LLM) for admission to NLSIU, NALSAR, NLIU, WBNUJS, HNLU, GNLU, RMLNLU, and RGNUL. This year, in 2009, CLAT will be conducted by NALSAR.
